Panjshir Tour

In 2009 M2M Founder Shannon Galpin became the first woman to ride a mountain bike in Afghanistan - a country where women are unable to ride bikes.
The Panjshir Tour bike series was created to commemorate that groundbreaking ride and  support M2M's efforts to empower the women and children of Afghanistan.

We need bikers, bike shops, sponsors, volunteers and community voices to make the Panjshir Tour a success for years to come.

Shannon's first ride was on her birthday on October 3, 2009, in the Panjshir province.  By selecting a mountainous province in the heartland of the Northern Alliance, she broke stereotypes and barriers.

On October 3, 2010, communities across the U.S. and Canada hosted community bike rides and events exactly one year after Galpin’s first ride. At the same time, Galpin and another female rider rode their bikes through Panjshir Province for a second time, linking these support communities with Afghanistan for the first time.

Outside writer, Nick Heil, joins M2M Founder, Shannon Galpin as she becomes to be the first person to ride across Afghanistan's Panjshir Valley..
